Newt to unveil plan to destroy Social Security
And being an old fart, his plan is a rehash of an old failure.
Republican presidential contender Newt Gingrich wants to give younger workers the option to choose private retirement accounts as an alternative to Social Security.Because Wall St. and the markets are very safe places for your life savings. Better he should offer everybody a young, good looking new spouse to support them in the sunset years. It worked for Newt. Folks might not live as long, but boy oh boy would they be happier.
"It would be a voluntary choice. Keep the current system if you want to, or have a savings account," Gingrich said Monday at Rivier College in Nashua.
