If you accept a settlement from BP
Which will probably be a low ball figure conjured up before all your losses are known, you won't be able to sue BP or any of the other malefactors of Great Oil. However you may well get the money quickly. Still, we can probably expect 75% of BP's $20 Billion fund to go to the lawyers.
And in other news, BP's clever static kill screwed things up so much that the relief well's final closure has been delayed to after Labor Day. Trust the Brits to screw things up.
