Logistics in Afghanistan

The opening paragraph in the McClatchy report on the Afghan supply chain says it all.
Between pilfering, mountain passes closed by snow, overturned trucks and attacks by hostile tribes, getting equipment and supplies to troops in Afghanistan is a challenge.
And no matter how hard you work to get the kinks worked out, you can not avoid certain facts.
"Ten to 20 percent of the cost of a war is getting there," Younger said...

...Shipping supplies from the United States to Afghanistan takes between 45 and 49 days.
A friend of mine always used to say, "Bad business is good business to lose". I know he wasn't talking about the Kabul Quagmire but it sure seems appropriate.
