Once upon a time

GE was known to people who worked for and lived near the company sites as "Generous and Easy" Then along came Neutron Jack Welch who realized that instead of being good to his workers, he could fire half and screw the rest out of most of what had already been given to them. With that he could sell off many of the assets their work created and take all that big pool of money and give it to himself and his best buddies and pretend he was providing wealth for his shareholders who also got screwed. And now, thanks to GE Financial, it has become a criminal enterprise.

Over at Firedoglake, masaccio gives us the details into one of their forays into extortion.
