A very sensible idea

Travel writer and erstwhile flight attendant Tiffany Hawk has an opinion piece in the LA Times decrying the extended work hours of flight crews on most airlines. What was intended to be the maximum allowable has become the norm. Her solution for the problem is right on the money.
If an airline worries it can't afford to hire more flight attendants should schedules require safe doses of sleep, we should remind its shareholders that the company could get hundreds of them for the price of one chief executive officer. Though rested, the CEO won't be much help when your Airbus dives into the Hudson.
Nor anywhere else when you think about it.
